It’s the first song I made everything by myself, from the beat to the recording. Normally I download a beat that I like from YouTube and then I’ll add something to it. But this song I started from scrolling through Ableton to see what resources I have. Then I found the guitar sample in the program, I liked it. I dragged it in, then the drums and bass. I knew that songs need to be structured, like sometimes you hear every instrument of the song, sometimes you hear only some of them, so I played with it. At the same time I heard the melody in my head and I thought it was perfect for the song, I recorded the main melody.
It wasn’t a smooth process, I added and deleted many things. But my main goal for this song is to put it out. I don’t really care if it’s perfect or makes sense or becomes a hit ( it’s funny to think that ) I gave myself a month to finish the song, that’s it. I did it in time. For me, this song is a progress I’m making. The output. The showcase. The trial.
When I uploaded this song, not so many people were fans of the song LOL. ( Less than 10 people listened ) But I got the feeling of pride and joy that I accomplished my goal, I felt like a winner already.
I think the lyrics say it all about the story of the song. It’s like we don’t really know who our enemy is. Maybe it’s the government. Maybe someone wants us to be divided. They don’t want us to be united. They introduce us to consumerism, materialism, they tricked us into thinking that people are different, they don’t want us to be one with each other, they want us to compare and be jealous of each other. Yeah, but we don’t know who they are, they’re among us, and we can’t tell on the surface who is who.
Sounds like someone on drugs, but I really think like that lol. yeah, that’s the story of the song.
